Please note that Glenholme Country House is not taking any further bookings at the moment. Our self-catering accommodation, the Rookery, remains open.
We have four stylish bed and breakfast rooms: three double rooms with four-poster beds and one large twin-bedded room. All are designed and decorated in a way which harks back to the solid comfort of the late Victorian era when the house was built, and all are named after well-known political figures from the period. At the same time, they each benefit from imaginative, newly-designed bathrooms and wireless internet.
Glenholme Country House is a relaxed and elegant guest house which offers bed and breakfast and home-cooked dinners in the evening. It is situated just a mile from the centre of the small fishing port of Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway, one of the most beautiful parts of South West Scotland.
Glenholme Country House has one-and-a-half acres of well-tended gardens where our guests can wander or sit in the sun. Alternatively, there is a large and comfortable Library for relaxing, reading or, in the appropriate season, just staring into a crackling log fire.
We offer dinners in the evening on most days, using local produce and vegetables from the garden whenever possible. Just let us know beforehand if you would like to eat in. We will ask about your likes and dislikes and build a menu to suit. Vegetarian meals are not a problem.
We welcome one night bookings, but ask that guests bookings for one night only take dinner as well wherever possible.
Glenholme Country House is open all year round except for the Christmas and New Year period.
